The Cranberries Celebrate 33rd Anniversary of Debut Album

The Irish rock band The Cranberries is releasing a special deluxe edition of their debut album 'Everybody Else Is Doing It So Why Can't We?', celebrating its 33rd anniversary. The album, released in 1993, became a worldwide hit and left an indelible mark on music history. The edition includes rare materials, remixes, and Spanish-language versions of their hits.

Pitchfork acclaimed: “Every song on Everybody Else opens a path to catharsis… O’Riordan's recognition of her own emotional depth is comforting.” The album highlighted the unique vocal style of Dolores O'Riordan (whose premature death in 2018 shocked the music industry). With Dolores' unique and iconic voice at the forefront, Everybody Else Is Doing It So Why Can't We? left an indelible mark. “We come from a small town in Ireland where those things didn't happen, so it was like a fairytale,” says guitarist Noel Hogan. However, 33 years on, their legacy not only endures but continues to grow. “We knew Steve was going to do a great job capturing the sound of The Cranberries”. After reaching number 1 in the UK and Ireland and selling over six million copies worldwide, Everybody Else Is Doing It So Why Can't We? generated two singles that entered the Top Ten: the debut single Dreams and its successful successor Linger, which cemented the band's position in the world of rock. When The Cranberries' debut album, Everybody else is doing it so why can't we?, was released on March 1, 1993, no one suspected that this modest band would leave a legacy that would span three decades. See the full list of configurations below. “It seems like yesterday, because we all have very vivid memories of that wonderful time,” commented drummer Fergal Lawler. “Every heart's issue is treated like a dissected butterfly, a silently complex entity that deserves to be appreciated simply for having once existed in this cruel world”. On May 22, Island/Ume will release the special 33rd-anniversary deluxe edition of their first album in seven configurations. Each edition offers additional content, including band commentary on each track, artwork notes from original designer Cally Callomon and photographer Andy Earl, 2026 stereo mixes from original producer Stephen Street, various and exciting remixes, and Spanish-language versions of Linger with Bratty and Dreams with ANASOF. “We had some setbacks before we could start recording with producer Stephen Street in a small, cozy studio, Windmill Lane 2, near Stephen's Green in Dublin.”
